One of the reason we bought the specific house we did in Girard, KS was because it had a detached garage that would be perfect for my studio! Come to find out, our house was not zoned to allow for a home studio. *insert big fat sad face emoji* Not to worry, though, because with the help of the Chamber of Commerce, I found a retail space available up on the square! *insert happy face emoji* … It’s been great to have a place on the square, but it’s not really setup to have a studio shooting space. It’s great for meeting with clients and displaying work.
After talking with the city inspector a few times, I finally filled out the paperwork to get our property re-zoned to allow for a home business. A trip to the planning community and a trip to the city council meeting, I’m almost ready to move the studio home! My guys have a little bit of work left to do on the inside and need to paint the front, and I’ve got to make one more trip back to the city council. Then, in the next few weeks, we’ll be already to go in the new space!
Here’s a quick look at what’s been going on here the last few weeks. :D :D :D
