This past weekend I got to share something with my daughter that I loved doing as a kid…A Daddy + Daughter date to Bone Creek Lake here in Southeast Kansas. When I was a kid, after the lake was built, we would go up there to go hiking, fishing, or to let the dogs run for a bit. It was always a nice time to get out of the house and just be outside!
We’ve been getting nine tons of rain here the last few days/weeks and it finally subsided for a few. Instead of sitting in the house, my dad wanted to venture over to the lake and see how high the water was and if there was any flooding. I jumped at the opportunity to go too! Just like old times. AND Mac wanted to go too! Totally made my day. <3
Overall, the water was high and there was a little bit of flooding, but it definitely wasn’t as bad as the pictures I’m seeing from just south of us.
