Southeast Kansas Photography Mentor Session

This is Darla and she inspired my current branding! Crazy, huh? I had the privilege of shooting with Darla after she answered one of my casting calls. A few months back, I was contacted by Meg, who wanted to book a one-on-one photography mentoring session. She was interested in learning the business side of owning your own photography studio and learning about shooting in different lighting conditions.

I scheduled the first shoot with Darla early in the morning right after I dropped the kids off at school. The lighting conditions at the time were what I ideally like to shoot in, overcast with a bit of a breeze. In these lighting conditions I was able to use my reflector without blinding Darla, and Meg and I could spend plenty of time discussing how to photograph portraits using said reflector.

Thank you Darla for being such an awesome and patient model for us!
